Lee Wallace is urging Hearts boss Jim Jefferies to play Jose Goncalves for the rest of the season regardless of whether he signs a new contract or not. Goncalves was fielded for the first time since December in Hearts' 1-0 defeat to Dundee United on Sunday as a last resort after the Jambos were plagued by injuries. STAND-IN skipper Lee Wallace has backed contract rebel Jose Goncalves to play a crucial role in Hearts push for a top six spot. Goncalves was a shock starter in Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Dundee United, the defender recalled due to his club's crippling injury list. Jambos boss Jim Jefferies had previously indicated the Portuguese centre-back would not feature because he had refused to sign a new deal, with his existing contract due to expire this summer.
